egg/art: eggheads
We are all eggheads – inasmuch as the human head is shaped like an egg.  As a play on this shape – I have been creating portraits that both use the egg as a canvas and a sculptural space.

As a canvas, different eggshells provide smooth or course surfaces on which to paint human face sand figures. For instance-goose shells are relatively rough, which allows for great textures in human skin through bleach painting or scratching on a dyed shell.  Your portrait can appear on an eggshell of your choice if you send me a photo; go to the ordering page and look at the styles that are available.

As a sculptural space, the eggshell allows for a unique and intimate view into our humanity.  With the ability to self-stand, the smaller eggheads (made from chicken, duck or small goose eggs) can be humorous or poignant, detached as they are from the rest of the body.  Over the years I have created buddhas, demons, saints and self-portraits.
