egg/art: florals
First of all – who does not love flowers? The question is not what – but which flowers do you love more than another?
Flowers are the sexual organs of plants. I remember writing in my journal years ago "If only we humans would have sex as beautifully as plants do – what a world we’d live in" Eggs are the fruit of avian reproduction; and thus there is a metaphoric connection between them and flowers… thus to render flowers beautifully on eggshells is my challenge. There are many floral motifs in traditional pysanky designs, and they convey a meaning of love – but also represent the sun- as the two are inextricably intertwined (remember also that beeswax necessary for batiking is produced by bees from pollen).
